Dow Class Lists

dusty-old-books1 In 2005, we embarked on a project where we wanted to compile the accurate class lists of each graduating class. This turned out to be a challenge because there was no electronic record and class registers were hand written by the clerks over the years since 1950s. We encounters, old dusty registers, broken files, and shelves sitting in Dow administration buildings. Some of the registers were in very bad condition and required special handling. From the Class of 1952 to class of 2005, we were able to compile lists of each graduating final year class into Excel sheets. In certain years we encounter as problem of class year assignment. Due to political volatility in mid 1970s  there was a significant delay in graduation resulting in a Final year old and Final year new class. The convention we have used here is the Final year of the graduation year. Since the information was manually entered from the hand written record there were some duplications, missing information, spelling mistakes and incorrect class assignments here and there.

We are thankful to Dr. Tipu Sultan, Dr. Masood Hameed and Dr. Salauddin Afsar for providing assistance in acquiring the records. Special thanks to Dr. Amin Baig of class of 1984 who diligently supervised the project until it was completed. Also thanks to the all workers in the Dow admin building. The project took several weeks to complete. FinalMBBSRes In the individual class categories there will be one post containing the first name, last name alphabetically arranges by last name. With time we hope to get enough information to link the last name to person’s email or Facebook if one wishes to. They will have to send us the email with the link information. All Dowites are encouraged to review the class lists and let us know if there are any mistakes and if there are corrections to be made. This list will be more useful if we have additional information where Dowites can connect to each other. An Email contact or Facebook contact would be most desirable here.     Great effort.
    There were many Saleem/Salim in the class of 1985.
    Many are simply listed by first name.
