Dr. Rashid Ahmed, Radiologist in Karachi passed away today.
Dr. Ahmed was a 1965 Dow Medical College graduate.

May he rest in Peace. March 27 2017: Text from Pak Journal of Radiology website: Dr Rashid Ahmed, being the most eminent radiologist has numerous achievements to his credit. His professional career spans over more than four decades. He started his career as Associate Professor, Aga Khan University Hospital. In 1989 he proceeded to USA to hone his skills in the cutting edge technology of MRI. On return, he was appointed Chairman Radiology and Imaging Department, Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) Karachi. In 1992, Dr Ahmed established Advanced Radiology Clinic (ARC) where he is serving people indefatigably and without discrimination. Dr Rashid Ahmed is the pioneer of vascular interventional radiology (VIR), CT and MRI in Pakistan. He is also a seasoned educationist and associated with College of Physician and Surgeon Pakistan (CPSP). He has also imparted training to countless students and has humongous contribution in the development of medical infrastructure and radiology training facilities like LNH, ARC, etc. He is also the patron-in-chief of Pakistan Journal of Radiology (www.pakjr.com) and has numerous publications to his credit.
In recognition of his outstanding services in the field of Radiology, the president of Islamic Republic of Pakistan conferred on Dr Rashid Ahmed, the award of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.
