The Dow 75th Anniversary Celebrations
In 2020, Dow Medical College will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the 1945 founding of Dow Medical College. It is indeed a proud moment for all Dowites across the world. To mark this milestone, the college should launch a year-long series of programs and activities, beginning with a celebration in Dow Medical College on January 1, 2020. The anniversary year also should include a full program of events that will reflect the rich tradition of the lively intellectual exchanges that flourish at Dow. These include academic events, lectures, symposia, and exhibits. The culmination of the anniversary year should be on or around December 10th 2020.
The Academic Programs
The Academic program through out the year will start of the celebration. State of the art lectures series and workshop events by the local faculty. The Dow alumni across the work should be invited to deliver lectures. Given the Dow alumni visit Karachi around the year it would easy to create a schedule of speakers who are invited to deliver lectures as part of celebrated lecture series. For this to happen the current Dow faculty and administration is well equipped with the resources and no doubt they will arrange an excellent program. All alumni across the work will be happy to help.
The Dow Days and Dow Stories
The Dow Stories project offers members of the Dow community the opportunity to record, share, and preserve personal stories relating to their experience with the college days.
The Dow community is very large commuting of current students, employees and affiliates, and many thousands of alumni living and working around the world—each with a story to tell.
Each short video, edited for length, features one or two members of the Dow community relaying a personal story about themselves, their work, and how Dow has had an impact in their lives. Together, the DowDays provide an invaluable archive of our shared history.
History of Dow Medical College
Dow is the one of the oldest medical colleges in the Pakistan, established in 1945. Over the last 75 years many important miles stone shave been achieved. There are many documents we have gathered over the years. The most comprehensive collection of Dow related documents, pictures, artifact, memorabilia, archives and publications are collected on the theDowDays.com. This site started in 2013 has been visited 1.3 millions times, for an alumni site it is a very impressive count. It showed that Dowites wherever they are always actively learning and sharing their most memorable days at Dow. As part of the 75th anniversary celebration we propose;
Dow History Museum:
What better time would it be to create a Dow History Museum on its 75th Anniversary. A place where one can showcase the timeline of the rich history of the institution we call the Dow. This can house actual artifact and multimedia display in according with any museum standards. Some of the sections are:

The Dow Class Lists – A wall of all the class lists
The Dow Memorabilia – Logo, flag, badges, ID cards, Admission forms in showcase

The Class Photos of Convocations – A wall full of Class photos
The Celebration Spirit: – Lets Create the Spirit Now
We propose to create a celebration spirit to commemorate the events. While Dow administration is the main authority and responsible to arrange this but all alumni across the world, name DOGANA and DOGANE would be happy to contribute. A theme, a logo, flyer and brochure must be esthetically made and distributed. Some of the items to be considered.
