Assassinated: FEBRUARY 16 2014 Karachi, Pakistan
A graduate of the Dow Medical College Class of 1980, (fraduated in 1981) Dr Kazi has a very bright academic career. He obtained his doctorate from the Royal College of Pathology, London. Thereafter he joined the faculty of Dr Ziauddin Medical University, Karachi Medical and Dental College and was quite recently appointed as the Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Karachi. He was also on the faculty of the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation. He was assassinated today by unknown assailants near the KMDC. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
SOME IMPRESSIONS OF DR. KAZI BY HIS COLLEAGES:
The assassination news of Dr. Javed Kazi is one of the most painful news I have ever received. I was extremely sad. When I could not handle, I called dr. Adeeb rizvi and cried over his shoulder. He was equally sad. This is not only a great personal loss but also a great professional national loss. The Urology and the transplant community in Pakistan has been deprived of the rare expertise of one of the best professional who has saved thousands of lives by making a timely diagnosis of rejection guiding the right treatment. There is no value of life, knowledge, life saving professionals in this country. Javed was the sweetest person who always volunteered his services in the most difficult cases. He had the most beautiful smile. The criminals and the animals who have been involved in thousands of murders like this have never been brought to justice in this country. The nations with no regards for their healers and professional and no justice can not last long. May Allah bless his soul with highest ranks in Jannat and give peace to his family.
Saeed akhter MD, MPH, FACS
President, Transplant Society of Pakistan
We share your grief. This savagery has to stop but unfortunately one doesn’t see any end to it. Intellectuals, Educationalist and Healers are being killed systematically to further disintegrate the society. It is indeed a very troublesome situation. Law Enforcement Personnel are being used to protect the Governing and the Elitist class only and national assets like Dr. Javed Kazi and hundreds of thousands like him are left on the mercy of murderers, fanatics and criminals. It is ironical that a nuclear powered nation is not able to govern within its own boundaries.
Sadly,
Javed Suleman MD (Ex-President of APPNA)
Yesterday DR JAWAID QAZI was murderd ruthlessly in front of KMDC
He was one year junior than me
A gentelman and a very good pathologist.
It’s very very unfortunate
Very sad
Now more doctors will leave the country
Helpless and hopeless
Shershah

Dear Dr Hasan
This is shocking news. I remember Javed well from his sabbatical here in Leicester, where he trained in electron microscopy and transplant pathology. Please pass my condolences to his family. He was a good man and a good doctor, dedicated to helping the people of Karachi.
Yours sincerely
