In December 2004, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) was established due to efforts of a Dow graduate Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, Governor of Sindh. Another Dowite Dr. Masood Hameed Khan became it’s first Vice Chancellor.
