Professor Sharif Chaudhry, Professor of Cardiology, Civil Hospital, Karachi. He also served as the 11th Principal of DMC from June 21 1984 to June 17, 1987.
He started the 1st Coronary Care Unit at CHK built entirely from donations from his patients and the public and then the first cardiac cath lab. He was given a lifetime achievement award last year by the current VC of Dow University, Dr. Masood Hameed Khan, who he trained as well.
Professor Sharif’s son Dr. Hasanat M. Sharif is a cardiovascular surgeon at Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi. He is from Dow 1984 batch.
Dr. Uzma Sharif from 1990/1991, Dr. Saima Sharif is from 1994 and Asimah Sharif from Dow 1982 batch.
